Top 10 May Flowers- Books that Remind me of Spring Blooms!
–Daffodils mean new beginnings. In Something Kindred, the main character Jericka goes to Maryland. Although she originally goes there because her mom makes her, she ends up finding a life there as well. She finds a new love, a new love for the town, and a love for her family. She took control of her new beginning turned it into a good thing.
-I HATE to do this, but tulips mean a deep, conditional love because of the way they’ve been loved for centuries. And the very first love that came to my mind was Violet and Xavier. They basically loved each other their whole lives. I hadn’t seen a love like this in a long time.
–Azaleas mean love, gentleness, femininity and fragile passion that is still developing. The two main characters are absolutely none of these things lmao But they are feminists that are “still developing” and I immediately thought of this one.
–The meaning of Hyacinths are different depending on the color. Purple ones mean you’re seeking forgiveness. This could be tacked on to any romance book that has a third act break-up, but with this one, Dr. Matthew Vine is basically looking for forgiveness throughout the entire story because of what he said at the beginning. And oof he deserved it. I hope he got her all the hyacinths lol
–Purple irises are meant to represent wisdom, strength and courage. You give this to someone who has completed a great achievement. And this is still pretty new so I won’t say much, but a person literally saves the world in this. I think that’s a pretty good achievement lol
–Pink Peonies are said to symbolise good luck and prosperity and I think this was the perfect book to pair it with! This book gives a very good lesson luck and what exactly it means.
-Blue lilacs (idk why I love that so much. Aren’t they supposed to be like…… lilac?) are supposed to represent happiness and tranquility. I chose Ghost Roast because it made me ridiculously happy. I read this and then wanted to go back and read it again. But I just forced it on my co-workers instead lol
-Yo it didn’t dawn on me until I was placing the picture here that this is set in Houston and I used the Texas state flower for it lmao That just means its meant to be. Bluebonnets are said to symbolize bravery, sacrifice, and admiration. Amerie is one of the bravest I’ve ever met. Just look at her grand gesture. I don’t know that I would have done that lmao But you go girl!
-Magnolias are not only a representation of the deep south, but they also represent nobility and purity. Nobility means a person, you admire and respect them because they are unselfish and morally good.I immediately thought of Ricki. Even with her terrible sisters, she made her own way and she was still all good where they weren’t.
-I’ve never seen or heard about a forsythia before, but once I saw that they meant anticipation, I knew I needed to pair this with one of my most anticipated books of this year. And now that I have it in my possession, I am having a REALLY hard time trying to make sure I don’t forget everything else I’m supposed to be doing and pick it up instead.
I did this theme once before for Valentine’s Day, but I thought it would be cool to use some spring flowers for this one! What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
OOh nice topic spin! I like it! Great picks too! Lots of new to me ones but a few familiar fantasies!
