Jennifer’s Body meets The Weight of Blood in this horror-comedy about an evil spirit looking for a second chance at love and life.
Just because Schuyler is a bloodthirsty evil spirit doesn’t mean she can’t fall in love. Ever since Wren Castillo moved into the house Schuyler haunts, Schuyler has been crushing hard. But Wren has a boyfriend, Enzo, and he’s the worst. Schuyler has no choice but to watch as Enzo treats Wren terribly-until she accidentally possesses him.
With Enzo’s spirit nowhere to be found, Schuyler must pretend to be him until she can set things right. But Schuyler feels more at home in Enzo’s body than she ever did in her own, and as she grows closer to his family and friends-including Wren-she starts to wonder if this could all be for keeps.
Maintaining a possession is harder than Schuyler expected, though, and it might just take some spilled blood to keep her new body going strong. Worse, it turns out she’s not the only one interested in stealing Enzo’s body. When another evil spirit threatens everyone Schuyler now holds dear, she must decide just how far she’s willing to go to secure her second chance at love-and life.

*MY THOUGHTS*

So first of all, this was crazy af lol I had no idea what I was expecting when I read the title, but it wasn’t this lol I really need to start reading the synopsis of books because this was wild lol But pair it with the weird ass cover and title, and this really was right up my alley lol (Idk what this says about me LOL)

So like I said I didn’t know what to expect when I started this, but Lordt was it good. She was a ghost at the beginning of the book and that was fine, but things got really weird when she possessed the dude that was going out with her crush….. And let’s not forget the he was a d!ck part too. The characters in this were weird af, but honestly that’s what made this book what it was. Because she was so sweet, but things kept happening to her. Like it was very obvious that she did not want to be eating animals or people, or doing any of the other things she was doing as a ghost. I kind of felt bad for her.

The plot was crazy. This is another where I never knew where it was going. I was so confused in most places as well. But it seems that part was on purpose. We don’t find out what happened to anyone until deeper in the story. I felt so bad for all that she had gone through as well. She definitely didn’t deserve any of this. I don’t want to say more because spoilers, but just know I cussed that person out in my head the whole book. Because yeah, I unfortunately did know why this person was doing what they were doing. I called it and then got even more mad because REALLY?!

I also liked the rep in this. I’m not any of the representation that’s mentioned, but I loved seeing the main character look around and find their place in this world. They went through so much not only in life, but also in the afterlife, so seeing them figure everything out and being accepted and falling for their new life, just made me so happy to see.

Not only was the plot and pacing and everything good, so was the writing style. I have so many gem quotes that I wrote down. I hope y’all pick this up because I really need to talk to someone about this one. I need y’all to really pick this one up. If nothing else I need y’all to read the last chapter. It makes the whole rest of the book and its weirdness worth it!

Overall, I give this
