Grace Henderson has been a star of the US Women’s National Team for ten years, even though she’s only 26. But when she’s sidelined with an injury, a bold new upstart, Phoebe Matthews, takes her spot. Phoebe is everything Grace isn’t—a gregarious jokester who plays with a joy that Grace lost somewhere along the way. The last thing Grace expects is to become friends with benefits with this class clown she sees as her rival.

Why I’m Waiting: This is a sports romance. And it’s sapphic sports romance. I meannnnnnnn HOW CAN IT GET BETTER? Well it’s by the same person that gave me Mistakes Were Made, sooooo here we are lol That’s all I needed to hear. Am I nervous about the rivals to lovers? Yes. (Y’all know it’s not my favorite trope) But I am confident Wilsner will make me like it. They made me like the stress that came with someone getting with their friend’s mom, so HERE WE ARE.
