Two for Tuesday: Red String Theory

These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: Red String Theory

This book is all about the Chinese legend of the Red String theory. This theory says that there’s someone for everyone out there and they’re connected by a red string. And though things may happen between them they will always follow the string back to each other. And this cool story turns that theory into a real life act. I loved it so much. Also, how cute is it that they put together a skeptic and someone who believed in the legend wholeheartedly?

This is another book that features the Red String theory. In this story there’s more Chinese legends there as well. It’s a paranormal book, so the red string theory isn’t talked about right away. But things happen between some characters and it’s mentioned. I actually learned about the Lauren Kung Jessen book because of this book. I remember looking up the theory and found out that book was coming out. In this book the red string serves the same purpose, but it’s not there until the ending. I really enjoyed pairing the two of these books together!

Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.

Do you think these sound good? Does this topic make you want to add these to your TBR? Will you go pick one up today?! Let me know in the comments!
