These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!
Today’s Theme: Magical Flowers
I know you’re looking at this like “Girl, what the hell?” lol But if you’ve read both of these, you probably know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. But if you’re also like me, you probably were so floored by the fact that they were both the SAME flower that you had to look said flower up and see if it’s always been known to have magical powers. In this book, the magical jasmine is what she smelled when she first met Ezra. And that smell turned into this epic love story that I fell in love with as well.
In this one, Deepa’s grandmother tells her to make a wish on a flower after she’s had a bad day. She makes this wish and the next day meets the dude of her dreams. Or is he? It was a very sweet YA romance. I just love that these books are both so different, but both still the same in this small way. It definitely made me think about getting some jasmines in real life!
