Two for Tuesday: Lost Family Recipes!

These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: Family Recipes

This one actually came out of nowhere! I haven’t read either of these yet, but I was sent them both from Sourcebooks! And when I read the synopsis, ESPECIALLY for this one, I laughed so hard. This one mentions a “a lost mac & cheese recipe causing grief” and I can only imagine! I know for a fact that someone getting the recipe wrong or not doing it right can cause people to fight, ESPECIALLY if its like during a holiday or something, so damn. The thought of never getting it right again is terrifying lmao So yeah, I’m going to be reading this. I need to know what other hijinks this family is up to. Again, ESPECIALLY since its about a barbecue and Memorial Day, Juneteenth, AND that day in July is coming up. I’m sure I’ll be reading this on one of those days!

This one is a bit different tho. The recipe that’s lost in this one is a spice recipe and it seems like a way bigger part of the story. This one makes me a bit nervous because I have 3 sisters and we definitely don’t always get along lol This might seem too much like real life. ANDDDDD it’s in Texas lol And IYKYK! I actually just got the audio for this in my hands, so I’m going to be reading this in tandem soon! Hopefully I can get my hands on some greens while I’m reading too because y’all know I’m a foodie!

Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.

What about you? Have you read either of these? Let me know in the comments!
