TTT: Weird or Funny Things I’ve Googled Thanks to a Book

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish and is now run by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week she will post a new Top Ten list . Everyone is welcome to join.  This week’s topic is:

I don’t actually remember any 🙁 I didn’t really start keeping track until recently, but they were never weird or off the wall. But here’s some I guess……

-Monsters: I remember reading a book that had some naga in it, and I didn’t know what that was and there weren’t any descriptors, so I had to look them up.

-Magical Flowers: There was a magical flower that showed up in two of the books I read, like back to back, so I remembered Googling if they were actually magical lol

-Translations: I only speak English (sadly) and sometimes I don’t always get something in another language from the context clues, so I have to Google it.

-Clothes- Sometimes I read something where the main character is a different culture from me and they might mention their dress or something, but I didn’t know what it looked like and I wanted to know.

-Settings: Idk why, but I just love settings. Especially if its a place or building that’s really there. Or even a place I’ve visited. But if I haven’t, I love that I can find it via Google and visit from my couch.

-Ways to unalive people: I read a lot of thrillers ok lolol

-Ways that People can Fake Unaliving: Again, I read a lot of thrillers ok

-Drinks: Listen, I’m over 21 and sometimes I read adult books that have adult beverages in them and I want to remember the name of it so I can try them later lol

-Food: I have also Googled food before so I could go back and look up a recipe of it later lol

-Animals: I sometimes come across specific animals and I don’t know what they look like, so I look them up to verify.

What about you? Do you have any actual funny things on your list? Let me know in the comments!

  1. OOh nice! I can’t remember what things I might have googled myself. I do it so rarely it seems. I guess because a lot of what I read is fantasy so whatever it is, it’s likely not real! Lol. I do know of a lot of different mythical creatures but since I’ve been reading so long, I don’t need to google them!
