TTT:  Quotes From/About Books

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish and is now run by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week she will post a new Top Ten list . Everyone is welcome to join.  This week’s topic is:

  1. “Think before you speak. Read before you think.” —Fran Lebowitz
  2. “Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book.” —Bill Watterson
  3. “I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library.” —Jorge Luis Borges
  4. “I divide all readers into two classes: those who read to remember and those who read to forget.”—William Lyon Phelps
  5. “A novel is like a bow, and the violin that produces the sound is the reader’s soul.” —Stendhal
  6. It is so unsatisfactory to read a noble passage and have no one you love at hand to share the happiness with you. —Mark Twain
  7. No entertainment is so cheap as reading, nor any pleasure so lasting. —Lady Mary Mortley Montagu
  8. “Read the best books first, or you may not have a chance to read them at all.” —Henry David Thoreau
  9. “Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary.” —Jim Rohn
  10. “Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” —W. Fusselman

This was hard. I realized I don’t keep track of quotes I love much anymore because of how many audiobooks I consume. I should probably get back to that…..

What about you? Do you remember book quotes? Where do you keep them? Let me know in the comments!
