*MY THOUGHTS*
I’m someone who read EVERY SINGLE BABY-SITTERS CLUB BOOK THERE WAS. Ok maybe not all of them, but I came pretty close. I had a friend who owned them and gifted them to me when she out grew them. And she had almost the entire series. It was then that I fell in love with Kristy, Mary-Anne, Stacey, Dawn, Claudia, Jessi, Mallory, and everyone else in Stoneybrook. So when I heard about this, I KNEW I had to get my hands on it immediately.
Ok so we all asked that same question all the time right? The “Which Baby-Sitters member are you?” I always had the same answer…. I’m a cross between Mary-Anne and Claudia lol And reading this again confirmed it. And I really think that was the best part of this anthology? Confirming how these girls are as they’ve grown a little older. Each of these authors did a bang up job on depicting their specific person. They all felt nostalgic and they all felt like the characters I grew to love back in the day. It felt like I was reading the originals all over again. I love that they got Ann M Martin involved and she approved these changes too.
This was a very easy read. I had no trouble getting into it and I had no trouble listening to it. The audio was immaculate. They also sounded like children so that was a plus too. (I HATE reading MG/YA audios and the narrator doesn’t sound like the MC. It makes it weird. But this one was fun and had all the right narrators for each part. The plot was fun. It’s hard to explain since it’s showing all of them in different areas, but I thought it was really good. Mary-Anne is stuck at home while all the others spending the summer all over in different places. They were all baby-sitting in different vacations and spending time in different ways with different people. Kristy found someone unexpected to hang out and more with. Stacey had a job but ended up taking another job at the carnival “Boy Watching.” Claudia was being an art camp director and so much more. I really enjoyed seeing them baby-sit in different locations.
I never thought at my big age that I would be reading another Baby-Sitters Club book, but here we are. And let me just say, I will read another if they write one lol This was so much fun being back with those characters and I really hope this isn’t the last time. So y’all go pick this up and read it so we can be sure to get some more of these!
