*MY THOUGHTS*
Yo, wtf did I just read? Like this ending was so crazy lol I was a little distraught and had to listen again. I was way off. So of course, that meant I loved it! How long till the next Urban book? lol
For me, summer is when I try to read all the thrillers and mysteries of the year. So of course when I saw this one was coming out in May, I had to read it as soon as I got my hands on it. So imagine my surprise when I figured out that on this cruise they’re still in school lol It wasn’t disappointing or anything, just a lesson to me that I need to read synopses instead of just adding a book to my TBR because the cover is pretty.
Anyway, I LOVED this book. This mystery had me on the edge of seat the whole time. Whether I was mad at the FMC or if I was just trying to figure things out. I didn’t like that there weren’t that many real red herrings. Like all of them were basically just reasons that everyone hated that girl, none of them made me think or anything. In my mind it was just things that mysteries do. The way they hated each other tho made for good entertainment. It was definitely messy. And I’m talking MESSY. At one point I was even like wtf is happening. I knew it wasn’t funny, but geez, they were so catty, but everyone was still acting like friends lol
The main characters were the things I didn’t care for. Like all of them seemed to hate each other but no one said it to their faces. It was just a bunch of mean person bs. And to be honest with you it was a little weird. I didn’t really care for the way she was still so hung up on her ex. Like it was very weird. And for the way they were acting toward her, for her to still be running behind him like that, it really rubbed me the wrong way.
Now I will say I got the person completely wrong. I fell for the person who Urban wanted me to believe it was. Which made me feel weird because I usually can catch it. Not this time. It was completley off, and believe it or not, I loved that. It definitely made me want to read another thriller/mystery right away to get that sensation again. Like it’s so weird, that not knowing whodunit before it was revealed gave me so much joy lol And the rest of the mystery that was revealed from that one thing was like WTF definitely made me put my guard back up for other thrillers that I read so I know that anything is possible with these authors lol
This was so good and I really enjoyed it. I remember after I finished listening to it I was like Ummmm wtf lol But it was because the book was so good, not because I was thinking it was bad. There were flaws, but there’s not a lot of books that don’t. I hope y’all pick this up to read and find out for yourself!
Overall, I give this
