A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder meets Fargo in this fast-paced YA mystery about a teen detective gone missing and her best friend who must finish her investigation.
Seventeen-year-old Fenny Allen has been Sarah Vincenty’s sidekick for as long as she can remember, ever since the two of them solved the mystery of the stolen library books back in elementary school. Over the years, Sarah has ruffled a few feathers in their small town, building a reputation as both an amateur detective and a vigilante who has dispensed her own form of justice.
Now Sarah is missing. The police have written her off as yet another teen runaway, but Fenny is convinced that something more sinister has happened. When she discovers a binder Sarah left behind entitled In Case I Go Missing, Fenny learns that at the time of her disappearance, Sarah was investigating her biggest case yet.
Fenny knows that it’s up to her to finish what Sarah had begun. As she and her friend Sam piece together the clues that Sarah left for them, they find themselves up against a decades-old mystery—one that links to the town’s dark history. But is this binder a guide to finding Sarah—or are Fenny and Sam already too late?
The more the pair uncover, the clearer it becomes that those involved will go to great lengths to keep their secrets—even as far as murder.

*MY THOUGHTS*

I was sent this book from the publisher approximately 3 times. I didn’t love the cover so I kept pickeing it up to put it down. But finally I was in the mood for a thriller, so I picked it up to give it a try. And OMG y’all I binged this in a day. Idk what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this lol I ended up giving the extra copies to other librarians, but I had to keep one for myself because this was GOOD!

So one way this was easily bingeable was the plot. As a true crime girlie, I think I want one of those binders lol I have never done anything to make people hate me as much as they hated her, but Lordt I still want one lol And let me just say how effing smart Sarah was and the way she used it. There was also how smart they were that they just got it and her when trying to find those clues. I loved it so much. That journal was only the beginning. The rest of it just kept growing and growing and then bam, it just blew up LOL Like how is the WHOLE TOWN involved?

There were so many freaking characters in this book lol It really felt like a Clue game! I was able to guess the who (well part of it) but the why just wasn’t there. One thing I admired from them tho was the way she kept them all straight lol I really wish I could see the murder board she made just for this book. Because they were all different and all had different personalities and everything.

The ending was a bit weird tho. I of course didn’t want that to actually go down, but Lordt they came at the exact right time. I had to use suspension of disbelief because I got a little mad at first. Any other time it would have been ok, but it was like that exact right moment and that exact time. It was just too perfect. I know this might be a me thing, but whatever lol

This was good. Now I see why they sent me this book like 3 times. S/o to whoever knew I was going to love this LOL I’m hella glad y’all know me and that I actually listened to you! So far, we’re at 2 for 2! (The other was the one with the teens with the hearts that left me crying LOL)

Overall, I give this
