What inspired you to start book blogging?

Two things really. I wanted to tell people about the books I was reading in case there was anyone out there like me that was having trouble with finding representation of them in pages. That’s why I wanted to blog. The other part is I needed a creative outlet and a blog is what I thought of at the time. I was in college and we were assigned books and passages we had to read. We then were told we had to come up with some kind of creative book report. (for lack of better words) My very first one I did was some psych notes on the lady from The Yellow Wallpaper. And although my prof thought it was great, I got a B because she said was hard to access because she didn’t have a Blogger account and didn’t want to create one just for the sake of reading my assignments. So I deleted that post and left the blog dormant for a while. And then I realized I wanted to blog about books, and I just never stopped. And here we are , more than 10 years later and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. Too many books left to read out there!

What about you? What inspired you to start your blog? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I remember this story of yours! Though I still have Blogger, I switched to a different comment system. I didn’t think you “needed” a blogger account to see blogs or comment on them. But maybe that was an early feature…? I started my blog as a contest entry and have kept it up as it’s the best way for me to gush about books!

    Here’s my BBH

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. It could also be the fact that neither one of us really knew what we were doing back then lol I had just started it (without really reading) and she had just tried to edit etc. I’m not sure if me making it private had anything to do with it too. Only people with the link could look. Until I opened it to everyone.
