What are some common troupes you’ve seen in a genre you like to read? Are there any books you’ve read that reverse or change those troupes?
Oh Lawd, I have so many favorite troupes smh lol In romance, I like friends to lovers and my favorite of all time is the meet cute. And in fantasy, I like The Chosen One troupe. In mysteries I like the “new/accidental detective.” In thrillers I like The Big Reveal. And in all genres, I love the “Title in the Story,” and I hate/love love triangles that have a bad person and a good person. I hate/love it because I don’t WANT to like it but I do lol As for any books that have the troupes reversed, I’m sure I’ve read at least one, but I don’t keep track of them and can’t think of them off the top of my head.

For me it usually depends on how the trope is written/handled if I will like it or not. I have the love/hate relationship with love triangles myself. But I do kind of like that enemies to lovers one too!
