         Hi Mich. It’s Gabe.
After burning out in her corporate marketing career, Michelle Amato has built a thriving freelance business as a graphic designer. So what if her love life is nonexistent? She’s perfectly fine being the black sheep of her marriage-obsessed Puerto Rican-Italian family. Besides, the only guy who ever made her want happily-ever-after disappeared thirteen years ago.
     It’s been a long time.
Gabriel Aguilar left the Bronx at eighteen to escape his parents’ demanding expectations, but it also meant saying goodbye to Michelle, his best friend and longtime crush. Now, he’s the successful co-owner of LA’s hottest celebrity gym, with an investor who insists on opening a New York City location. It’s the last place Gabe wants to go, but when Michelle is unexpectedly brought on board to spearhead the new marketing campaign, everything Gabe’s been running from catches up with him.
     I’ve missed you.
Michelle is torn between holding Gabe at arm’s length or picking up right where they left off—in her bed. As they work on the campaign, old feelings resurface, and their reunion takes a sexy turn. Facing mounting pressure from their families—who think they’re dating—and growing uncertainty about their futures, can they resolve their past mistakes, or is it only a matter of time before Gabe says adiós again?

BETWEEN THE COVERS!
*This book is part of the adult contemporary romance genre! It is more mature than YA. I have featured it in Between the Covers as a way to feature the few Adult and New Adult titles I am beginning to read!”

*MY THOUGHTS*

When I finished the first book, I remember hoping we would get the other cousins’ books as well. But whatever I was thinking would be in this one, it wasn’t what was actually in it lol This book is a spicy, amazing romance that I really enjoyed.

Gabe left as soon as he could to start life on his own. His parents never did understand him. In the process he also left behind his best friend, Michelle. The two used to be inseparable. They even wrote fanfiction together. But when Gabe needs to go back to his home to open a new gym, he needs Michelle to help with re-branding and other things. When they finally get together again, they find themselves picking up where they left off….. And things escalate quickly……..

Ok so I want to start with the spice level. On my scale it was a 4. Maybe like a 4.5 lol Because let me tell you it wasn’t erotica, but it was not for the weak. I mean spicy times happened at 16% lmao I remember thinking “Well this escalated quickly…” This made it seem like instalove tho. Kind of? Idk. Since they were friends to lovers, and they were picking up where they left off, I don’t really know if it seemed instalovey. But it just felt weird that they were doing more than kissing at 16%. But don’t get me wrong, I was not complaining about it. The spice in this book was everything. Definitely a lot better than the first book, but I did think they could have had a longer wait time or something lol

The characters were just ehh to me. I didn’t love Michelle. I wouldn’t go as far as saying she was a bitch, but she definitely would have made me think twice about it. And Gabe was hella sweet. And when they finally realized they wanted to really be together, it made it even better. They were so cute together. That’s why friends to lovers is my favorite. It’s always cute when they were friends, but even more so when they move on from that.

The only thing I didn’t care for in this one was the fact that there was so much sexing going on, we didn’t get to know the characters as well as they knew each other. It was almost like Daria forgot that we didn’t know them? I don’t really know how to explain it. But it seemed like they were immediately doing it before we even got to know them and their history. Yes it came later, but I think I would have liked it more had I felt like I knew why they were attracted to each other. It was weird.

This was a spicy, solid addition to the Primas of Power series. It will be interesting to see how Daria will top this one with the next one. I don’t think she will be able to get better than Gabe. But it will be cool for her to try. And I will definitely be chomping at the bit to read it.

Overall, I give this
