*MY THOUGHTS*
As someone who’s Greek I jumped at the chance to get this book in my hands. I’m with NPHC, but their intake has always been interesting to me, so I knew I had to read this one. And then it showed up at my house and I picked it up immediately.
Ok so the intake for NPC is different than mine, so I always wanted to know what was different and what the rest of the process was. All the research I had was looking at the videos about Rush Week on Rush Tok and other social media places. Now it does go into detail about each step of the process, but the focus isn’t on that at all. It’s on the girls trying to get through the process and the different sororities that are found at the school. Imagine my surprise when one of them tries manipulating someone because they know they want to get in. And I’m not talking doing something embarrassing because it would be funny… No I’m talking a lot more crazy than that.
And surprise surprise to me, this wasn’t a one stop thing. But that annoyed me lol Because it was way to early to tell that that person was crazy. But nope, it was just that. I don’t want to tell anything else for spoilers, but I was disappointed. At least it got crazier than I would have even imagined tho. I mean like wayyyyyyyy crazier than I expected. And that for whatever reason sucked me into this book even more. And tho I was disappointed from this point, but I will say there was still a bunch to be surprised by at this point.
I will say tho the ending was disappointing too. For it to be this crazy the whole time, for it to just casually end like that, it was annoying lol I’m not saying I expected it to be like a blaze of glory or anything, but I expected more. We didn’t even see how they got got, just a mention that it did happen. And that was annoying. But I guess. Still protecting the honor of the sisters that weren’t sisters or family like at all. Crazy pants.
This was a weird ass book with some weird ass, terrible characters. There’s so many secrets and so much inappropriateness in this book that you will read this and still not believe it. I hope you all pick this up and let me know what you think. I need to know that I’m not crazy and this is actually problematic from the beginning to the very end lol
