Why I’m Waiting: Y’all know how I am just about Black people on the cover, so hearing that this also checks another Nikki box by being a loose retelling of a classic, GIVE IT TO ME NOW. Do I hate that there is another book about racism for Black people? Yes. Will that stop me from reading it? Absolutely not. In fact, I’ve already pre-ordered this for my library and have added this to our commissioner corner with the re-made classics. I can’t wait to read it and tell my old teens about it!
