These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: What’s in a Name
If you had asked me two weeks ago if I thought I was going to encounter two books that release today that both have someone named August as the main character, I would say no lol But that’s actually exactly what happened. (And y’all should know it came as a surprise because I hardly ever repeat books lol) But anyways, in this one, August is the main character who was betrayed by someone she thought she loved. And now he’s going around singing the same song he stole from her that ruined any shot at getting out from under her mother. [This is A and is out today!]
In this one she was just as mean and just as mad, but for a very different reason. There’s one point where this August also felt left behind since her Mom and Dad both weren’t really around and her brother decided to up and leave. Once she finds out more about where her brother disappeared to, she realizes there’s a whole new world she didn’t know about. Filled with monsters and more. She’ll have to pair with one of the monsters in order to find her brother and what she got herself into. (I didn’t realize how hard it would be to talk about this without spoiling anything lol) [This is YA and is out today!]
Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.

What about you? Have you read any other books with someone named August? Have you read either of these? Let me know in the comments!
