These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

This Week’s Theme: Vacation Thrillers!: Stay Outta the Water!
I thought about doing this on the release date, but since the 50th anniversary of Jaws was just celebrated this past weekend, I thought it was fitting to do it now! So with that being said, I think this theme fits so well! In this one Kaylani goes to visit her parent’s friends in Martha’s Vineyard. She doesn’t WANT to go and she wants to stay even less when someone she’s met turns up dead. And they think the reasoning behind it is a shark bite……………… And this is at the place where Jaws was filmed and has the famous Jaws bridge. This book will make you want to stay on dry land until you know more of what’s going on. [This is a MG book that will come out 7/1/2025]
For this book I’d like a round of applause of reading it lol I DO NOT like anything with too many legs, and Kraken/Octopi/Spiders/etc all count under that lol So imagine my surprise when I decided to read this one lol In this one Gabi goes to visit his bestie in the Hamptons when he notices that something weird is going on. So many people are dying and going missing. But his bestie doesn’t believe him. He’s going to have to convince her that something’s not right. Listen, I’m sorry Ruth, but Gabi was a SAINT to put up with you. He saw a huge tentacle and still stayed behind to try and convince you to go? Yeah absolutely not. I would have left you there lol This thing isn’t scary, but it is eerie and you will DEFINITELY want to stay out of the water with this one. Trust me on that lol [This book is YA and is out now!]
Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.
More Vacation Thrillers!

I was going to do all YA, but I just read the two that are labeled as adult, and I thought they deserved some shine too. I will say tho, if you make a YA display because of this idea, don’t use these two. I can give you two more to add to this instead, like one of my favorites, With Malice by Eileen Cook.

What about you? Have you read any vacation thrillers? Have you read either of these? Let me know in the comments!
