Two for Tuesday: Two Books I Think Should Have Been on the Goodreads Choice Awards

These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: Two Books I Think Should Have Been on the Goodreads Choice Awards

This year’s Goodread’s Choice Awards was very disappointing. I wasn’t shocked at all, just disappointed. So, if I had the choice, these are two books I would have added to the romance category. Yes the other categories may seem more diverse, but in the one that I read the most of, that’s what I was checking for. And of course, I was let down yet again. And it’s so weird because everyone (including me) LOVED this book and I don’t understand why this didn’t get the data it needed. Everyone I know loves this book. And for good reason. From the love interest who’s renting yachts just so the MC can get some free time to read, to the curvy main character who is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and the strange family dynamic and the sister I wanted to punch in the face lol This book was sooooo good and it would have won over all those other ones that are listed.

This is another one that should have been on that list. Was it about cheating? Yes. But not on each other. It was from the person she was with in the past. And it was so good too! And although the person who he cheated with wasn’t the surprise the author thought it would be, but it was still good. And still pissed me off to know I was right lol Of all the books on that list that I did read, I think this one was still better than all of them. I know these awards are just like a computer grabbing the data from all it’s users, but geez, that’s part of the problem. Even if you add them to your TBR and they stay there or if you read them and rate them low because “you can’t relate,” then guess what……. that data doesn’t track or do well and the Goodreads lists stay the same. At this point, I’m content just voting for the authors of the global majority whether I’ve read them or not.

Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.

Do you think these sound good? Which one of these will you add to your TBR? Will you go pick one up today since they’ve finally hit shelves! Let me know in the comments!
