These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: The Zombie (Books) are EATING!
I will be the first to say I was not expecting to see the zombies have this big of a come back this year lol I know there’s BEEN zombie books, but this year there just seems to be so many! And for all ages. And normally they freak me out because I’m not a huge fan of body horror, but I have to admit, I’ve been eating with these last few ones. And in this one, it’s like The Walking Dead in a YA book. And it was so emotional? I did not expect to get teary when I was reading a horror novel. It was creepy but the way they had to look out for each other, and the way they were fighting , and the lonleiness they felt from being by themselves was palpable. This is so much more than a horror novel. [This book is YA and is out NOW!]
This one is also pretty cool. I haven’t read it yet, but I’m almost positive this is going to be a favorite for the year. And no its not because of her fighting zombies in her underwear on the alternative dust cover lol This just sounds like my jam. I love paranormal romance and this new horrormance thing, so I’m just really excited to see how this goes. Although I was warned that it’s not exactly a rom com, so I really am interested in seeing how we got to this title and cover. (Which, speaking of, I have heard its more gory than the title and the cover suggest, so just be prepared going into it if that’s not something you like!) But also, I’m just excited because I will really read ANYTHING that Olivia Dade writes, so this was not a hard choice. I can’t wait to see this bad ass main character on the cover take out some zombies in her overalls lol [This book is A and comes out 8/5/25]
Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.
More Zombie books from 2024-2025

American Rapture (A), Summer (YA), No Brainer’s Guide (MG), Dead Things (YA), and What Do We Know (MG) are all about Zombies. I think the best part of zombie books is seeing what causes them lol Like why are we suddenly going through this apocalypse? But that’s just me. What do you like about them? And of course, if you need more for your display, there’s so many more from years before, like Dread Nation by Justina Ireland, Hearts Still Beating by Brooke Archer, Eat Your Heart Out by Kelly DeVos, and This Delicious Death by Kayla Cottingham. (These are all YA tho lol)

What about you? Have you read any of these? Will you? Are you scared of zombies? Let me know in the comments!
