Today’s Theme: Stay Outta the Group Chat!
I had another Two for Tuesday ready for this one, but mannnn this came up and I was like WTF. When I saw that there was a group chat with a “mock slave auction” I was appalled. I cannot believe that this is happening still in the year 2024. But it came on the heels of me reading a book that had a bad group chat and then I remembered that I had read another one earlier this year. (And this one actually was actually a little too close to this…) In both of these, there’s a secret group chat that comes up and let me just say, THEY’RE ALL BAD.
BUT they’re bad for different reasons. And let me just say, they’re different, GROSS reasons. So please take heed to the Content Warnings for both of them when you read them. I hate that I picked this topic because it came from real life headlines. But these books give you something to think about. The group chat isn’t always a safe place. Please take care of yourself.
