Two for Tuesday: Ruthless Royals!

These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: Ruthless Royals!

Today’s Theme: Ruthless Royals is a fun one! At first glance you’d think the ruthless royals are the main characters, which I guess they could be in a way…. However, this time I think it would be the King and The Queen in both of these. In this one, the King pit 4 different kids against each other to do a competition. The winner gets to become the heir. There’s back stabbing and lies and more. The audio has multiple narrators as well. I hope you check it out! [CORRECTION!: I don’t read synopsis, so I did not see until the last minute that the synopsis says a magazine calls it a “Hippie School that can be found in a book by Daniel Radcliffe. I apologize if you added this to your TBR and decided not to read this because of it. I have archived my post on Insta, but will keep it here because of the book by Sarah Raughley)

This one was a little difficult for me to get through because I’m not a huge fan of historical fiction, but I ended up still enjoying it. I think it was the way they treated her. As you see, the ruthless royal in this one was Queen Victoria. She was crazy pants. Someone from her team saw her in Africa and forced her to come to England with them. She let people do terrible things to her and hid it under the guise of her taking care of her. It annoyed me to no end. And then to make it worse, she forces her to marry and it was not what Sarah wanted. It was a lot wrong with these people and I didn’t care for them at all. Also I think its horrendous that we never learned anything about this woman. Granted this is a story from across the pond, but still. I hate that I keep finding more people that I had never heard of before because people are assholes. Stop erasing our history.

Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.

Have you read either of these? Will you do so now? What do you think about books with royals? Let me know in the comments!
