These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: Memorable Holiday Popcorn Garlands
I never thought about where the tradition of popcorn garlands came from until I read two of them back to back. And both of the scenes that had them stood out in my mind. In Mannequin it was a more sweet moment. Henry wishes a mannequin to life. During the time he was “alive” Henry begins decorating for the holidays and teaches Aidan about a popcorn garland. Aidan asks some hard hitting questions while they’re making it that Henry actually tries to dodge lol It’s actually a really sweet moment. It stood out to me because in the end Aidan gets really into Hallmark holiday movies and the heavy conversation that he started up included those movies. [This book is adult and is out now!]
This one is way different lmfao There’s a popcorn garland alright lmfao If you’ve read this you know why I keep laughing. This entire book is hilarious, but the scene with the popcorn garland had me laughing so hard one night that I almost woke up my kid. Let’s just say it’s a spicy scene, the popcorn garland ends in a weird place, and a very weird surprise pops up. This scene stood out to me because I was not expecting it at all. I thought it was going to follow through on what was starting, but nope. Quinn totally went there and I can honestly say I howled with laughter. I definitely read this at a time when I needed it. [This book is Adult and is out now!]
Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books.
