These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: It’s Rodeo Time!
The Rodeo has arrived in Houston! So for today’s theme I chose some books that made me think of the Rodeo. Like for the most part, when you walk into the stadium on any given day, they’re probably listening to country music. I chose August Lane because this features a country star that I would hope to hear in there one day. This story sounds so emotional! Definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for this one. I REALLY hope the audio has some singing in it. It’s always even better if the narrator sings a bit of the book. This one is adult and doesn’t come out until long after the Rodeo is over; July 29, 2025.
While August Lane is emotional, Lady or the Tiger is something completely different. This is a murder mystery with a teen on trial in the Wild West. That is until her husband shows up and she sees she didn’t actually kill him…. This sounds so bad ass! I’m not usually a fan of Westerns, but I WILL be reading this. And look at the last sentence on the synopsis: “This story—of how Alice Springer, a mountain girl from Kentucky, became the infamous Belle King, of how she found the tiger in her heart, becoming the wickedest woman in the Wild West—is a love story that cuts through time and patriarchal ties.” Yeahhhhhhhhh, give it to me NOW! It’s labeled as YA, but the MC is 19. (Publishers, can we stop doing this please? Make them YA or A if you’re not going to make it NA!) This one is out June 10, 2025.
Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.
More Books I’ve Added to my TBR because of the Rodeo!

Also, I feel the need to say…
I also chose this theme because me and hubs look damn good in a Cowboy hat 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️

Have you heard of these two? Will you be adding them to your TBR? Have you been to the Rodeo before? Let me know in the comments!
