Two for Tuesday: #GirlBoss

These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: #Girlboss

This connection was hilarious. These pyramid schemes are no joke. And in both of these, they show it. And they both show them so realistically. This one featured the main character actually joining them. And what a bad idea this was lol In this story the MLM*** is a big part of the plot once Emerson says yes. She quickly learns what this thing REALLY is and begrudgingly realizes that someone who told her it was “culty” wasn’t lying. I was proud of her for realizing what was really going on and getting out when she could. Because Lordt, I don’t think I would have been as calm as she was during that whole ordeal lol

I thought this one was a bit more hilarious. Partly because Mavis was not having it when she found out what they were doing. The way she deals with Bethany had me cackling. And when she goes to the parties and drinks and eats their stuff, just to get more clues, I felt like clapping. Mavis is so smart and doesn’t feel like such an amateur sleuth anymore. She didn’t let anything cloud her judgement (besides the fact that she kept blaming that one person lol) This book is filled with essential oils, gentle parenting, self care, and so many laughs alongside a terrible MLM scheme and a mystery. Definitely my favorite of the series.

Also…… if you are a #GirlBoss, lol Please don’t take this to heart. I meant no disrespect. Its just hella different to me. But I’m proud of you and your business!

***MLM= Multi Level Marketing

Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.
