These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!
Today’s Theme: Beast Mode Activated!
Every Halloween I think about doing a Creature Feature again and this year, all the stars (moons???) finally aligned! This month all TfTs will feature a creepy creature! (Besides Banned Books Week) This week’s creature is none other than Werewolves! I have accidentally read quite a few of them over the past few weeks, and the Harvest Moon a (full moon closest to the autumn equinox) was just last week, so I feel like its only right! This one is a bit different because of the way one becomes a werewolf. Its a virus turning everyone in this one. And the changing is not a cutesy, tear our clothes but we’re still able to put them on later. It sounds pretty painful, but still also cool. (As a reader I mean lol)
This one is a little different. The werewolves are said to exist to protect them from the vampires. ….And then one of those same wolves fell in love with one of those vampires. Everyone keeps saying this is for everyone who is Team Jacob and I can see “were” (pun intended) coming from. For me it was a tad too close to the books they were paying homage to, but I still enjoyed the fact that this featured a Black girl in a paranormal romance setting. Definitely what I needed as a teen, so I’m glad to tell more people about this one now!
