These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!
Today’s Theme: Be Kind Rewind
At first I had no idea what this book was about lol I just knew that it was going to be something I had to read because I loved the cover. But now I know that I want to read this solely because of the hella weird synopsis. I need to know wtf their dad did and why he walked out on them. And like what’s going on with these tapes? Everything about this screams the 90’s and I can’t wait to read it. This one supposedly has some old home movies on it which I’m guessing are from the 90’s, judging by the cover. Am I really this old now? (Yes I am actually… Unrelated, but a couple years ago I did a craft for the kids at work. We made elephants using old blank CD’s. They asked me why we were gluing stuff on movies. They thought they were DVDs lol)
This cover also has a VHS on it, but the synopsis doesn’t exactly say it had to be a VHS. Just that in 93 there was a horror flick that was made and only three scenes were released. And a movie released in 93 means it’s on one lol And in this one, there is some really weird stuff that happened while filming and there were secrets written in the original screenplay. Idk what happens in this movie, but I need to know. Everyone that HAS read it is saying wtf in the comments lol And obvs I need to know if I’m going to say that too.
