Top 10 Cozy Reads

I don’t really have cozy reads. When I think of cozy reads I think of books that are like books you’ve read over and over. And I’m not usually a re-reader. BUT, this year is trying me. At one point I wasn’t ready for anything Christmasy. It was too early. But then I read one Christmas book and it was all she wrote. And then on Thanksgiving a family member of mine had to go to the hospital and lately I haven’t been able to think about anything else. The only thing that’s helped me fully escape is holiday reads. I’ve been binging them ever since. So, I guess what’s been bringing me comfort isn’t a specific book, but a type of book: Winter Holiday Romances!

Both of these are spicy and are both diverse in some way. In A Merry Little Filthmas, they’re both Black. (It is spicy despite the cover) And A Merry Little Meet Cute has a fat lead who’s an adult star and both her and the love interest are bi.

These two are both YA. They’re diverse because Eight Nights of Flirting is a Hanukkah love story (so the main character is Jewish) and White Out is a romance that focuses on one Black LGBTQ couple, where all the stories are written by Black people and all the other characters are mostly Black.

These are also both YA, but they were really weird to me lol How to Excavate a Heart is another Hanukkah love story, but there’s nothing about Hanukkah in it? There’s a mention of a menorah a few times, but they don’t practice and all she really says is she’s Jewish but loves Christmas music. I think I just wanted more of the holiday to make an appearance. (But let’s be honest, the corgi and two girls on the cover as enough for me to read it lol) Talk Santa to me was just weird in general. Her whole family was cray cray lol

These two are both LGBTQ but on different sides of the spectrum. Matthew Prince is gay and Kiss Her Once for me is (so far, bisexual and demisexual. I’m only on like chapter 6 lol) Matthew Prince is a fave for me because their fave holiday movie is also mine, and because this is a Grinch retelling and HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THAT?

Y’all know the Bromance Book Club is my kryptonite lol I didn’t love this one, but I did love how they went back to the original and gave “parts of the book club story” that coincided with what was happening in the their real romance. It was always me favorite part and I was sad it wasn’t done in some of the others. And A Second Chance Road Trip for the Christmas is my BIPOC Readers Book Club pick. Although I haven’t finished it yet, I’m certain I’ll have it done by Book Club lol

Well, those are my current cozy reads! I know they are hella chaotic and all over the place, but they were all really great reads that I already want to flip back through. I hope the other’s I have on my TBR are just as good! What are your cozy reads? Do you have a theme like me with all different books? Let me know in the comments!
