Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish and is now run by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week she will post a new Top Ten list . Everyone is welcome to join.
This week’s topic is:
Redo a Topic: Character Freebie!
I chose to do this because I saw Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl did this and I was like how have I never done this?! So, I’m going to do
BOOKISH CHARACTERS!
-Nash from What I Like About You by Marisa Kanter- I was not a fan of the MC, but I did like Nash. He was a good bookish kid and he reminded me of me when I was a kid
-January & Augustus from Beach Read by Emily Henry: This was super cute but it did get deep in some places. Since they’re both authors they’re definitely both bookish. And that one bookshelf scene?! *fans self* Yeah. That was definitely written for the bookish lol
-Jubilee from Verona Comics: I thought this one was obvious. Not only is her mom a writer of comics, but she also reads them in her free time.
-Mack in Undercover Bromance: Mack has been my favorite from this book club since the first one. And in this one, he definitely solidified his place in my heart by convinicing the other men to go public with the Book Club! Can’t wait to see what they get into in the next one!
-Amy from The Bookworm Crush: I understood everything about her in this book. At some point I had been through that same way of thinking. I even thought some of the things she did when I met my husband. And I was grown at that time.
-Simon and Emily from Well Met: One is an English teacher and the other has oddball Shakespeare theories. And of course I just got approved for the second one yesterday and I’m trying so hard to wait until closer to publication date
-Birdie and Daniel from Serious Moonlight: They were looking for a reclusive writer and of course I related to Birdie’s love for mysteries.
-Charlotte from The Accidental Beauty Queen: She was an elementary teacher and I thought it was cute. I related so hard to her in this book, including being so out of place in front of everyone and being most comfortable in glasses and comfy reader t-shirts.
-Katy from Obsidian: Man, I could not make this list without putting a fellow book blogger on here! I read this long ago, so I have no idea if she’s still a book blogger in the newest ones, but I know in the very beginning she was and that’s what made me want to read ALL of JLA’s books.
-Belle from In Bed With the Beast: I debated on putting this book on here since I didn’t review it, but I had to. This was one of the funniest series I’ve ever read and come on, I could not make a list of bookish heroines and not put at least one retelling of Beauty and the Beast on here!
And here are some that I’m eagerly anticipating!
One of these is out, 2 of them come out later this year, and the last comes out next year. All of them are about bookish people and I am so looking forward to meeting these bookish characters! I just know I will love them all!
What about you? Do you like bookish characters? Are you like me and read something just because there’s promise of a bookish character? Let me know in the comments!
