Top 10 Books When you Need Something Light and Fun
*These are in no particular order.*
- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins– Anyone who doesn’t have this on their list is crazy!
- That Time I Joined the Circus by J.J. Howard– It’s not exactly light, but its short and whimsical enough to give me a break with all the heavy stuff I read all the time.
- Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler– Cupcakes? Ice Skating? Winters with snow? Romance? There’s nothing more light and fun than that.
- The Dead and Buried by Kim Harrington– Yes its a ghost story, but it reads like a middle grade. It’s scary, but not to much. I really had fun reading it.
- Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins– I laughed so much when I read this. The paranormal creatures in it are just an added bonus.
- Of Poseidon by Anna Banks– It’s a complete beach read. I loved all the water and mythology in it. And Galen of course was a nice touch.
- Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins– I think its safe to say that Perkins is like the Queen of light, fluffy romances.
- Beauty Queens by Libba Bray– You can’t tell me that you didn’t die of laughter when you read this! And if you haven’t GET TO IT!
- Paranormalcy by Kiersten White– Its not a hard read at all. Its really funny, I remember it kept me laughing the entire time.
- Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan- Really the entire series. I laughed the entire time. It was this series that I fell in love with Riordan’s writing. It was NEVER dull moment.
I´ve read and love Anna and Lola by Stephanie Perkins. great list.

I totally agree on THAT TIME I JOINED THE CIRCUS. It did deal with some heavy issues, but you're right, it had so much magic and whimsy to it that the novel felt light and fun. I also thought BEAUTY QUEENS was really funny, although I ended up not liking it all that much.

Oooh, Of Poseidon! I've been wanting to read that for awhile! I think I'll bring it to the beach next month! I love Anna, Hex Hall, and Percy. I definitely need to read Lola next!

Why didn't it occur to me to include Paranormal titles? Hey Of Poseidon and Paranormalcy!! I adored those two as well. Great list Nikki!
Anna and Lola are such great books. And I've been meaning to check out Of Poseidon. Great list!
