This week’s topic is:
Books I Added to my TBR and Have Forgotten Why
1. The Steep and Thorny Way by Cat Winters: You might be thinking…. “What, why Nikki? This sounds just like you!” And you’d be right. In fact, this is why it’s still on my list. Because truthfully, I don’t really like Historical fiction, and don’t normally add it to my TBR.
2. Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens: Not a normal book that I would read out of nowhere. But I remember grabbing it and reading it from work because I was at sitting and doing nothing while I had to do something called Customer Count lol
3. American Royals by Katharine McGee: Yes I like books about Royals, which is why I DID add this, but the promise of George Washington and a the fact that I’ve DNF’ed something by the author before made me question if I was really going to read it.
4. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks: I THINK I added this to my TBR because I wanted to watch the movie, but I don’t remember ever seeing the movie, so I don’t really know why I added this. In any case, it was a good book though lol
5. Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma: This is definitely not something I would normally read, but I think I added it after reading My Dark Vanessa because if I could get through that book, I might be able to get through this one too.
6. Great by Sara Benincasa: I hate classics, so I’m not sure why I added this to my TBR. But in the end I did like it. I actually liked it alot. So I guess I like modern re-tellings, just not the actual classic lol
7. An Enchantment of Ravens by Maragaret Robertson: I am not a huge fan of the fae, but I still decided I could read this anywways. It wasn’t my favorite, but it wasn’t terrible either.
8. Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin: I’m not a huge fan of witchy books, but then reading this one definitely changed the way I looked at them.
9. The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw: See #8
10. His Hideous Heart Anthology edited by Dahlia Adler: I like anthologies, but they’re not my favorite. I don’t know why I wanted to add this to my TBR, but then I remembered it’s about Edgar Allan Poe stories, and I decided that was ok with me so I gave it a shot.
For the most part, I didn’t know why I added them at first, but thinking back on them, I remembered! What about you? Did you remember why added them to your list? Did you forget why you added these to your TBR? Let me know in the comments!
