*MY THOUGHTS*
I can’t lie, I wasn’t a huge fan of Ask Again Later, but this one was definitely more my speed! It featured lists and so many nerdish tendencies. It just felt more me.
“‘By my calculation, about thirty percent of adulthood is pretending to like people you actually couldn’t care less about..“
pg. 59
The first thing I loved about this book was the diversity. There are so many different kinds of people in this book and I loved them all. In addition, the characters were all well rounded. They ended up all getting a little back story which made this light and fluffy read all the more enjoyable. They didn’t seem so vague and it made their jokes more identifiable and more funny.
“‘Haven’t you heard? Hell is other people.“
pg. 191
Then there was the laugh factor. This book was hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud everywhere I was reading it; at work, at the doctor, in court lol It’s one of those books that can immerse you into the character’s world and have you laughing out loud when you’re really in public and people are looking at you like you’ve lost it. Between Sammi and Gabe, and Chloe’s craziness, the laughs just keep coming.
“‘Why should I have to fit in with everyone else’s idea of what makes someone beautiful? Why does everyone care so much?“
pg. 193
The mystery in it wasn’t my favorite tho. I always base those on whether I figure out who the culprit is or not. With this one, it was too easy. I had it figured it out from the beginning. But still, with Czukas’ writing style, I was able to look past it and just enjoy the book.
“People make assumptions about you no matter what you look like.“
pg. 195
I'm glad you liked this one. I'm picky on my Contemporary but I like the sounds of this one (the quotes you have definitely sound great). I've heard good things about it and I'm definitely more interested now. Great review.
