These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: Books I Want to See Made into a
TV Series After Watching Forever on Netflix
Besides the books that were seen or discussed in the show, I of course immediately thought of some YA romances that would give me the same feels! And then it evolved into which ones I’d like to see on screen too because while Forever by Judy Blume is a CLASSIC YA book (and this is coming from your friendly neighborhood YA librarian) these books are also RIGHT THERE. So, Audre & Bash could be the beginning of an entire Tia Williams universe! But for the purpose of this TfT I’m only highlight the YA romances, but JUST IMAGINE. Plus I would love to see the mental health aspect on screen. It’s not always an easy topic to talk about with the older generation. Seeing it portrayed on screen could open a door or two.
If you know anything about me you know this is one of my favorite YA books ever. I loved the music aspect of it, the growth between these two, and they were the sweetest kids. I thought about these two because of the way Prince was trying to show her that he cared about her. And their dates were so cute! I think it would be pretty precious to watch them go on them. And of course like a broken record I will bring up the braids part lol I just know that this would EAT in a tv series. And Ebony LaDelle’s next book comes out next week (OMG!) ANDDDD I just got approved for her next next book, an anthology about romance at HBCUs. From just looking at the line-up, I would just go ahead and add this one to the “I Wish it was a Series” list too.
Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.
More YA Romance Books I Wish Were a TV Series!

Rhythm & Muse? The party/reveal scene would be LIT! This is also what I was thinking for Love in 280 Characters or Less. Can you imagine watching that go down in the library? In I was Told There Would be Romance, I think it was just hilarious. She got into too much ish to not watch it on screen. 24 Seconds from Now would be cool af to watch backward. And the road trip in I Wanna Be Where You Are would be one of my favorite things. And because of the blue nosed pit. (Just because I have a red nose pittie lol)

Only for the Holidays would be cool because I want to see the difference between the two of them. And although I haven’t read it yet, I would obviously love to see the different stories from all over the HBCU. ESPECIALLY if they were all at the same one! Zyla and Kai were so cute! And I would love to see the amusement park setting. Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry has a bit of a personal thing. I’m notorious for keeping a composition book, but I ALSO went to one of the schools mentioned in the book. (20 points if you know which one lol) And last but not least, Reggie and Delilah because the migraine rep on screen would be HUGE, but also I’m a holiday junkie and I think seeing all of them celebrated (including Juneteenth!) would be fun to go through each episode.
These I Haven’t Read, but I’m Sure They’d Eat on TV Too!
