These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: Cozy Mysteries!
I will be the first to admit when I was wrong. And I was wrong about cozy mysteries. I thought I wouldn’t enjoy them because I enjoy the gore and blood and weird of thrillers and regular mysteries. But then I saw Elise Bryant had a book coming out and I thought WTH and gave it a chance since she’s one of my favorites. And let me tell you, once I finished this book I’ve been thinking about it ever since. I CANNOT wait until the next one comes out! I thought it was hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing. And there’s a part in there about “banned books” and a missing principal and omggggggg it was so good! Mavis was the perfect amateur sleuth and I really enjoyed seeing solve this thing. If you pick this up, please let me know. I need to talk to more people about this book!
This one is set in Louisiana and the amateur sleuth is an older Black woman. And that’s really all I needed to hear loll Especially one from the south? I know this is hilarious. And the person who was killed was a nun, so I’m assuming the church is also a big part of this too. (Which would track with where she is and the title lol) I just know I’m going to laugh my behind off when I read this, so I can’t wait to read it. I check my Libby almost every day to see if I got it yet. I hope to get it soon since the sequel comes out next month.
Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books.
