*MY THOUGHTS*
This was no where near as compelling or thrilling as the first two. It wasnt bad, but it wasn’t on par with the others. It didn’t feel like it’s own story? I’m not sure how to say this correvtly. Maybe it’ll become more clear in the review.
There’s a storm headed right for the Ellingham Academy. All the students have been evacuated. Except that obviously means Stevie aOverand crew stay behind on the mountain. Can she figure out who killed Alice or can she prove one of the biggest questions they had about the case?
I was hoping this book was just like the first two books and had their own mystery. But it wasn’t. It was literally just answers that we don’t get in the first two books. Normally this would be ok, but I don’t feel like it was anything else. There was nothing thrilling here and I felt it suffered because of it.
And I felt like it was too long. I am not one who cares much for flowery words and too much fluff, and this had a lot of fluff. And because of that, I wasn’t as into it as I was the other two. Pair that with the fact that I didn’t really care for the way this one wasn’t too thrilling, it just felt like it was too long.
As for a series ender, this book was legit. Every question I had throughout the series was answered. And I was happy, I didn’t guess the killer in this one. I can normally guess them right away, but this one I didn’t get. It could have been the fact that the author kept important details from the reader, tho. Because some of the clues were needed to put 2 and 2 together .
Don’t get me wrong, I liked this series. And I thought it was a great series finale. I just wish there had been something more.
