*MY THOUGHTS*

This is probably going to be one of the hardest reviews I write this year. Why? Because not only do I have to watch myself to not put spoilers for the series, but I also have to make sure I don’t spoil anything at all from my reactions to this. Because Lordt, I had some FEELINGS! And I’m talking like I got mad at some points, I swooned at some points, I was talking out loud to them at one point, I mean I had all the emotions lol And judging by the updates that I’ve seen, I’m not the only one.

Every time I finish a Barnes book I have to sit there and figure out what the hell just happened. And this one is no different. There’s so many twists and turns in this book and I literally sat there just blinking for a while. I really want to know how she keeps up with all things that she put these characters through. And does she sit there and plan out every little detail for every book in each of her series’ when she’s writing? Because Jesus Christ, this had me pacing while I was listening to it lol I mean like I was making these predictions and everything else trying to figure out who was doing what, but there’s so many mysteries that are weaved together and there’s so many other factors that come in to play, Barnes makes it impossible for you to guess anything.

Did I hate the non-romance? Yes. Like ughhhh I wanted a little more of them. I liked that she finally chose because, FINALLY, but then I thought it was also unnecessary? Like there wasn’t much besides them fighting each other because of her (and they’re brothers) and it was hardly a romance anyway? I think if she had explored it more and wasn’t like leaving it to the fans to “choose” one of the boys. Idk, maybe it’s just me, but I think it could have been the same strong story without that. And yes I know that it’s just me, but I just feel like if it wasn’t going to be explored and we aren’t shown who she chooses and what they did together, I don’t know that it mattered much to me.

And the fact that this whole series came forth from a game? I can’t imagine doing all of this with just this in mind. It really makes me wonder wtf was she doing to come up with this? lol Like playing chess? Was she learning it? How did she get these weird ass puzzles? Whatever the case may be, I’m endlessly happy she did. This series was a wild ride and I can’t wait to see what else she’s going to come up with next.

Overall, I give this
