For fans of Megan Lally and Kara Thomas, a twisty thriller about a Texas teen accused of murder who’s desperate to clear her name.
All it takes to ruin someone’s life is the stroke of a key. Just ask Iris Henley. Her life is destroyed when someone posts an anonymous message on her high school’s subreddit thread: “Iris Henley is a killer. I’ve been too scared to come forward until now, but I saw her murder Rocky and Lynette last summer.”
Just like that, Iris loses everything. Her reputation. Her friends. Her hope of getting into college on scholarship. Even, possibly, her freedom, once the police start to investigate. After all, she’s the perfect suspect: Rocky was her boyfriend, and Lynette was her ex-best friend—and the girl he was cheating on her with. But Iris didn’t do it, and now it’s up to her to clear her name by finding out who did—before it’s too late.
Propulsive, sharp, and absolutely twisty from the New York Times bestselling author who brought readers the Veronica Mars duology, Jennifer Graham’s YA thriller is unputdownable.

*MY THOUGHTS*

When I tell you I REALLY need to start reading the synopsis, I’m not lying lol I cannot for the life of me figure out how I didn’t know this was set in Texas lolol (Around the Austin area) But it was so good and I was hooked. I didn’t guess all the whodunit, but I DID guess the motive. If it sounds weird, it’s because it is lol

Ok so the mystery was what drew me in. If you know me, you know that I’m a sucker for anything that has even a modicum of something to do with social media. And this one basically starts there. Someone writes a rumor about Iris online saying she killed her bestie and her boyfriend for messing around on her. And that’s all it took for everyone to turn on her. It was crazy because it was ONE post! And then from there so much more happens lol It was a hot mess. And I couldn’t stop listening. I HAD to know what happened.

The characters in this were all unhinged. From Iris to the whodunits. Even her family had me looking at them upside their heads. LOL I am not being dramatic at all when I say I trusted no one lol And that made me happy. Exactly what I want in a thriller because I knew nothing.

I was impressed by the writing style. The book I read before this was a little slow, so picking up this that had my heart rate going and me not wanting to put it down was a smart move. Although this isn’t horror, my heart was going and Iw as always on edge. I felt like I was the one who was in the midst of this social media war. And the way they did things to her as a cheerleader? Yeah, that wasn’t ok. That could have really hurt her and they were all just standing there like HUH? I was annoyed, but again, I felt like I couldn’t look away from it.

This book caught me off guard in so many ways. I hope y’all pick this up. Go and get this and tell me if I was being dramatic or if all these people in this book were crazy. Because I kind of need the reassurance that it was them and not me lmao

Overall, I give this
