A down-on-her-luck woman makes a deal with a crafty demon to win back her ex-girlfriend after a proposal gone awry, only to discover the girl of her dreams might be the devil she knows, from nationally bestselling author Alexandria Bellefleur.
Samantha Cooper is having a day from hell.
In less than 24 hours, her life has unraveled, leaving her single and with nowhere to live. Adding insult to injury, she’s trapped in an elevator with a gorgeous woman claiming to be a demon.
Daphne is not at all what Samantha expected from someone claiming to be an evil supernatural entity. She’s pretty, witty, dressed in pink, and smells nice. And she’s here to offer Samantha a deal she can’t refuse. Six wishes in exchange for one tiny trade—Samantha’s soul. There’s a glaring loophole in their contract, one Samantha fully intends to exploit so she doesn’t fork over her soul. After all, she only needs one wish to win her ex back.
Hell-bent to gather the last of the one thousand souls she needs so that she can be free of her own devilish deal, Daphne grants each of Samantha’s wishes . . . with a twist, so that Samantha is forced to make another.
As Samantha’s wishes dwindle and Daphne offers her glimpses into the life she thought she wanted, the unlikely pair grows close. Perhaps the girl of Samantha’s dreams is actually the stuff of nightmares, but Samantha and Daphne will have to outsmart the Devil himself if they want a chance at happily ever after.

*MY THOUGHTS*

This was not at all what I was expecting. I had no idea this was going to make me think as much as it did. I did have some issues, but for the most part, I thought this was really good. It blew my expectations away.

OK so one of my only issues with this was the main character. How in the world did a demon get it but you didn’t? At the very least you should have known that she would be in touch with the evil in someone, so you should have listened to her. I know she was mourning a relationship, but it was sad for her to be so sad over someone who clearly didn’t deserve her.

I also had some weird thoughts about the ending. Was I the only one who thought it was rushed? Like they had this whole like situation and going on and on and then bam just ok on a technicality? It just felt weird. But I was glad to see the two of them together. I hate when there’s flirting the whole book but we don’t actually get to see them as a couple. This one is also like this, but I think I was ok with this one because for the most part, they weren’t actually flirting. She was “in love” with someone else the whole book and it wasn’t really all about them until towards the end.

But the rest of the book was still good. I really liked the way this book made me think about certain things. Like how far would I go for one certain person. Is that one person or one thing worth a deal with a devil? I don’t think there was anything out there that I would want to go through anything like the scenarios that she did lol There is NO WAY I would sign a deal with a devil to get back with my ex. Ain’t NO WAY. I know I’m a hot mess because I spent most of my time reading this book saying HELL NAW. But what would I do for someone else? Like my husband? Would I sign something involving a devil when my husband is in the picture? This was pretty thought provoking and I really enjoyed that part of it.

The characters tho were my favorite part. Daphne is not a real demon lol She can’t be. Because she was too nice and too sensible. I was not expecting her to be the one with some sense lol As for Samantha I will give her some grace because she had just went through some like trauma lol but it was still annoying the way she centered even her own happiness on someone else. I thought she was silly for doing what she did, but I was glad that she finally understood what Daphne was saying by the end of it.

This surprised me. I knew I was going to like it because Alexandria Bellefleur is always a favorite, but it was more than that. This book had me thinking about life changes and more. I hope y’all pick this up and think about those changes too.

Overall, I give this
