Thank you Emily for ALWAYS thinking of me! As some of you may know, I collect ARCs of books that are OwnVoices to me in some way. So when Emily at @miss_print asked if I wanted ARCs of these two, I jumped on the chance! (And just in case someone reading this wants to gift me too, I collect ARCs of books that have a fat main character, a Black main character, and/or a main character that has ADHD and anxiety. I will pay for shipping!)
I did buy the book that everyone else did, but I didn’t post about it because Amazon screwed me. This is what they sent me. (Never mind that I’ve had this pre-ordered since the day we could…… I just don’t understand that? Like why not give someone that dedicated a book that is pretty? We obviously wanted ir really bad. And you do this?!)
All the pages you see that are messed up on the side had those tears in them. And yes I realize they were just boxing and probably had no idea this was messed up, but I was angry. I still am. They always do this to me. But they’re the only ones who get things to me on release day.

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but yay for great friends to pass on ARCs you like to collect! I haven’t gotten physical ARCs myself since this whole pandemic. I think the publishers forgot about me in that time. Amazon is truly the worst with packing! Like you said, they likely don’t look at what they’re boxing up. I’ve gotten books with severe damage as well and I’m like are you freaking kidding me? This is unacceptable!
Sadly, I did not get my copy of this book! My preorder was delayed from an indie store. I went to a Target and B&N hoping to maybe just pick up a copy, but they were all sold out. I might try to go to one more B&N today and see if they have it, but at this point I think I may just have to wait for my preorder.
