Stacking the Shelves #384 & the Weekly Wrap-Up!

This bookish meme tells the blogosphere what all we borrowed, bought, and received for review. It’s hosted over at Tynga’s Reviews.

From the Library:

I listened to the audio of the first two books by Cleeton, so it was only right that I listen to this one as well. I just love the narrator! And it’s finally time for me to read All American Boys. I used my library’s ILL services and got the audio in so I could listen to the CD version in my car. I also got the first season of an old show I used to watch when I was in middle school, Are You Afraid of the Dark!

For Review:

I got a physical copy of Come on In from the publishers. I got The Boy Toy and Raybearer from Netgalley. They all sound amazing! I’m not usually a fan of anthologies, but this one is about the immigation experience and y’all know I’m all for any diverse reads! And man, The Boy Toy sounds really good! I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with an age difference before. And Raybearer also sounds amazing! I’m ALWAYS down for #BlackGirlMagic!

  1. Oh nice!! Those are some new to me reads. And YAY for Are You Afraid of the Dark!! I remember watching that show as a kid too! So creepy! I think it was last year Nickelodeon did a reboot of it and it wasn’t too bad. I know I reviewed it on my blog, I recall a little bit of an issue with the storyline, but still a creepy good story!

Hope you enjoy the new reads and the rewatch of Are You Afraid of the Dark! I keep debating about tracking down those DVDs to buy…but I remember some episodes were pretty creepy and not sure I could handle watching them home alone at night! LOL!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    1. You’d be surprised. After going back to watch these, it’s not as scary as it used to be. And it’s so outdated, you can’t help but laugh at some of the things!

  2. Did you watch the new Are You Afraid of the Dark?

I got Raybearer audiobook on NG but the app is so terrible. I really enjoyed the story but the app ruined the experience. Luckily it was available on librofm!

    1. I haven’t seen the new Are You Afraid of the Dark. I’m hoping they put those on DVD so I can watch it soon. I got Hulu just so I could watch it, and then it was gone 🙁 I also need to check out librofm!

  3. Reading is definitely better than making dinner. Love it! I don’t even really like historical fiction, but I love Cleeton’s Cuba books. I think I listened to the first one, but I read the other two. All were good experiences.
