Secret Identities. Extraordinary Powers. She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone…except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice—and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.
*MY THOUGHTS*
As a Meyer fan since Cinder I was really worried about this book because it wasn’t her usual. I have to admit I was looking for her fairy tale element. But this one was just as good.
I have to say the world was my favorite part. Meyer has the greatest imagination ever to come up with all the characters abilities and all the different names and stuff. I found myself saying I would love to do about 90% of the things from almost every character and put them altogether.
However I did feel if was a tad bit too long. I could see why everything was in the story but I found myself having to take breaks in-between reading. That was part of the reason it took me a long while to read it. (Also because I had to write 5 papers before Thanksgiving but that’s beside the point.)
And let’s talk about this ending. Like WTF. Talk about bombshells. And then there was that one person that said that one phrase. Does that mean they were the one that did It? Ugh I have so many questions lol so if you read it too and also have questions, email/DM me on Twitter so we can discuss!
I've heard a lot of mixed things about this book but the ending seems to be a game-changer for most people. I'm still on the fence about it, but I'm sure the worldbuilding is on point!
