READy to Talk: Something Awesome This Way Comes!!!

     READy to Talk is a new discussion meme that will come up few and far between, just when I have something bookish on my mind. Something that I want to get y’alls opinion on!

This time this is going to be a little different. Not exactly a topic, but more of an update on where I’ve been. So lately there’s been no reviews on the blog, but its been because I’ve been SO. BUSY. I’ve had two really important things happen to me that I’ve been super stressed about and now that they’re both over, (or one is anyway) I finally feel like I can breathe again.

So some of you may know I’ve been trying to become a Collection Development Librarian for my Library System since I got my MLIS. But they never really had what I was interested in. I wanted to be the Diversity and Inclusion Collection Development Librarian who ordered mostly anything that was inclusive in some way and I wanted to be the person who did it for the youth. But this position to be just a collection development librarian opened up, and I decided I’d go for it. If nothing else, just to see how my interview could go. (If I even got one.)

And lo and behold, I was chosen for an interview. I have spent the last week or so prepping for it. I was BLESSED to be able to have my interview online so it took a lot of my anxiety away. So now, we wait. I will let you guys know when and if anything changes.

I know many of you will ask: But what about your teens? The teens at my branch will always be “MY” teens because they were my first ever teens when I became a Young Adult Librarian. But now, I will also have MORE teens. A county full of them. And I get to buy books for each and every one of them. If I get the job of course.

So the other thing that’s happening, I can’t tell you anything about yet. It’s also something I’ve wanted for a long time, but I can’t disclose it yet. I will let you all know as soon as I know something concrete.

So, I hope you all keep me in your prayers and good thoughts that these things turn out good! I really hope to be sitting and chatting with you all about both of these things here soon! In the mean time, I’m going to keep reading and you’ll get a review up there soon lol
