*MY THOUGHTS*

This show had that “when you say you’re going to watch just a little bit and then you end up binging the whole thing” vibe. And that’s exactly what I did. I worked from home today, so as soon as I logged out, I settled in to the couch to watch a few episodes and didn’t stop until I was finished.

Definitely a loosely based adaptation, but still was close enough to the book. It had the same plot, but it wasn’t any thing close to the events that happened in the book. The course is the same, the coffee scene is there, the surprise of being bethroed was there, and there were other characters from the book there as well. But the events that happened were definitely different. But I get it, it’s a tv adaptation. Things were going to be different to help fit them in. But I wished some of the things were there. Like the pizza place they went to? It was kinda there, but it was with the jackass kids. Watch it and see what I mean lol

Even with all the changes I was ok. What I wasn’t ok with was the ending. THERE BETTER BE A SEASON 2 THAT FOCUSES ON ASHISH AND FINISHES OUT DIMPLE AND RISHI’S STORY ARC. Because the way this ended was terrible. It literally cut off in the middle of the drama. And if they don’t continue on, it’s going to feel so weird. Like we don’t get the entire story. I felt like it was a super weird way to cut it off. So now I’m just hoping they continue the story and give us what we’re owed lol A finished, drama free Dimple and Rishi love story.

As for the acting, I LOVED that it was Own Voices. I LOVED Dimple’s character. Prajakta Koli definitely played Dimple really well. She had the right facial expressions and acted exactly like the way I pictured she did when I first read it. In other words, I thought she was just as rude now as I did back then lol As for Rishi, I liked him, but just like in the book, he was outshined by Dimple. But he was still the sweetest ever. (Another reason I’m so mad about the ending. He was done so dirty!)

This show was really short, but really good. I still can’t believe I finished it in an afternoon. I really hope there’s more where this came from, because I need more. And also I need to see Sweetie and Ashish because Sweetie was my favorite book in this series. I need this to be a thing.

Overall, I give this
