Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it’s now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They’ll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.
Emma hadn’t planned that her next assignment as a traveling nurse would be in Minnesota, but she and her best friend agree that dating Justin is too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially when they get to rent an adorable cottage on a private island on Lake Minnetonka.
It’s supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But when Emma’s toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they’re suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected–including catching real feelings for each other. What if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?

*MY THOUGHTS*

Just once I’d like to get out of an Abby Jimenez book without crying lol But this won’t be the one that breaks the streak. I thought it would, and I got really close, but alas, their convo got me. And I don’t even really remember what part? I am a weirdo that cries about everything. And I realize I’m ok with that as long as it’s because of Abby Jimenez!

Ok so the plot of this one I wasn’t exactly excited for. Idk, the synopsis (the one time I did read it) just seemed weird. But my Lordt, it ended up being my favorite book in this series. I stand firm in my never reading the synopsis and just going off cover vibes lol I was hooked onto this. And I didn’t even mind the toilet king thing lol This was a beautiful book and I’m glad I didn’t let the synopsis stop me

Now the characters?! Justin was just an all around good soul. I don’t think I’ve read another MC who had that much love for the other MC basically like radiating off of them. He loved her from the very beginning and watching his love unfurl and grow was just so sweet. Emma took me some warming up to tho, not gonna lie. She felt cagey and also caged in like the whole book. It wasn’t until the end when we see what’s actually going on that I understood why she seemed that way. And even though it was her mom that was going through all this, I was happy to see that she recognized that she also needed some work. That was my biggest gripe in her last book, so seeing her get what she needed before she was ready for love mad a great story.

The only thing about this that I didn’t love was the back stories. Jimenez has this way of making these stories seem so real, like I’m watching a tv show or something. So when we don’t get every detail about a character, I get a little annoyed. So now think about it as just getting bits and pieces of both of their moms and the things happening to them now. I wanted more. Were they the main characters? No. But I feel like that’s the problem with making these books so believable. I want the side characters to be just as developed as the main characters lol

This was such a fun book! I can definitely see why Good Morning America picked it for it’s book of the month. The vibes are immaculate and it will make you laugh but also cry. And that author letter at the end? I LOVED it. All the easter eggs that were explained was so cool. I caught most of them, but there was like one or two that I missed…….. Guess I will have to look out for them during a re-read! (And for the recors, there are no ugly dogs lol)

Overall, I give this
