*MY THOUGHTS*
This was hella crazy lol I can’t believe that this thing led to all this craziness. I was so mad and I wasn’t even in the story. I wish y’all could see the notes I wrote on this book lol I’m telling you, this was a lot
One thing I love about thrillers is the characters. They’re always written as unreliable. And if the author can do it in such a way that’s different than usual (not drunk or on drugs) then it makes me love them even more. And this one did just that. Instead this one has a real reason to not like any character. Literally everyone has the potential to be a suspect lol
But even still, I was able to catch who it was. But let me tell you, it is NOT as cut and dry as I thought it was. That ending had me staying up until like 3 am on a work night because I had to know how it really ended. And THEN just when you think it’s over, it’s not. I really couldn’t believe my ears as I was listening to this. When I tell you this had me shocked and confused and then mad af. I was so mad I was pacing lol
The only reason I didn’t rate this higher is because there’s some plot holes left open. Especially with the information that we learn at the very, very end. It was so much more that could have been said in this. And one thing that stuck out was the REASON all of this started happening in the first place, I need to know if anything was ever done. For my own mental health it did because that person or people can’t keep doing stuff like that. So yeah, basically, there are a couple places that this could have used some information.
The writing style was great tho. So many red herrings, and so many clues to what really happened. I was so into the book that I didn’t mind that I figured out whodunit. I was also sucked into this because one of the narrators was Brittany Pressley and y’all know she’s one of my favorites. I would listen to her read a grocery list. She really brought the characters to life.
This book was A LOT. But in the best way. I can definitely see myself losing myself in her back list. I’ve already requested a few from my library. If nothing else, I hope y’all pick this one up so we can discuss. I hate having to write such vague reviews like this lol
Overall, I give this
