Choices will have to be made…and I fear not everyone will survive.
*MY THOUGHTS*
This series started out SO. GOOD. But I did not like how the last one ended. So I was thinking I wouldn’t finish out the series. But by then, I was too invested… So I bit the bullet and read it anyway.
Grace and her friends are just trying to make it to graduation. But things have gotten crazy and making it to graduation seems harder and harder… Especially with the Bloodletter dropping bombs left and right. And things around school aren’t any easier. Grace’s classes are getting harder and the way Jaxon has acted toward her lately has been no different than the cold outside. And just when they thought nothing else could go wrong, they learn Hudson has a warrant out for his arrest. So much is happening and Grace and everyone is just trying to survive.
After reading this, I still feel the same way about this series. The cliffhanger in Book 2 was just not ok with me. I already don’t care too much for love triangles, but this one was a little weird considering who were the other parts of it. And this one confirmed it. It was so awkward watching (reading) them tiptoe around each other for her. But hopefully with this last book the person is more into someone else that popped into this strange equation and the awkwardness from this book is over.
As for the rest of the book, I felt like there was no real plot. It took way too long for them to be in school and it was basically the same thing over and over. They like each other, they don’t, school scene, repeat. It got boring after a while. After we finally reached graduation, it finally got to moving. It got much better after that. But unfortunately, then it felt rushed. Like she knew it was already long so she was trying to wrap it up.
As for the writing style, I did like when the shit hit the fan tho. Before I wasn’t that into listening to it, but once it got moving, you couldn’t tear me away from it. I even turned up the speed so I could listen faster. It reminded me of what I saw in the first book and the reason I wanted to read more of this series. It had me hooked and with the ending I’m super interested in finding out what’s going to happen in the finale. I just hope its not as long and extra fluffy as this one.
You do meet more characters in this one, and there was already a lot, so I would suggest going back to the first two and remembering who everyone is and then reading this one. If you’ve remembered everyone, you’re awesome, because I did not. And I’m not sure I’ll remember who was in this one either, so I had to write them down and what they were. I’m sure it will come in handy later.
I wasn’t surprised that I didn’t love this. I went into it not expecting to. And I know that sounds weird, but what I really came here for was to see how she was going to make this work. And though it wasn’t my favorite, I’ll finish out the series. I’ve become too invested lol

Yeah, that love triangle just blasted me and not really in a good way. I didn’t like getting so invested in Jaxon and Grace only to have it shatter in the very next book. But I mean, when she goes back and dissects their relationship I was seeing how I would eventually grow to not like Jaxon as much. It probably could’ve been handled better, but I’m pretty invested in the series too! Though I am seeing moving parts here and there and I’m pretty much figuring out who might end up with who…except Macy. Her love triangle definitely has me baffled as to who she might choose. If she is in fact in one. That was a few books ago, so I might be remembering wrong. Lol.
Glad you’re still enjoying the series somewhat if not as much as before. I find myself still deeply attached despite all the curveballs and cannot wait to see how things will end later this year. Nice review!
