June 5th is World Environment Day. Can you suggest a book that has an environmental message or theme?
As it turns out, one of the pillars of Social Justice is Climate Justice. It’s a way to build community and make sure the community is taken care of and has the resources they need. So basically, I have been trying to make sure I am reading more and more about climate justice for teens. They’re the ones that will need to clean up our messes. We more than likely can’t stop them now, but THEY can leave it better for their loved ones. And so I wanted to choose something that encompassed that.:
And there’s another one that I hope people will read and think about what could happen if they don’t pay attention to what they’re doing now. I’m afraid of the way we’ll leave the world and the way things will be mixed up or messed up because of the way the world is. And I think this one shows what could happen if we keep mistreating the world:
What about you? Have you read either of these? Will you? Let me know in the comments!
Nice picks! I do worry what the world will look like for these next generations. I almost fear what some of them will do to the world. Hopefully the teens are better where you’re at! The ones by me aren’t the greatest but hopefully that will change as they mature! My picks this week might be stretching the environmental messages but I really couldn’t think of one with an impactful message!
Here’s my BBH
Have a GREAT day!
