Do you have a genre you haven’t read before but would like to?
This one’s easy. Historical Romance. I have been very vocal on the fact that I hate historical fiction on my blog, so this should come as no surprise. I don’t like most historical books because they’re always showing a POC in the same way and I don’t want to keep “re-living” that trauma. But since I DO like romance, I would think I might be able to find one I like. But I haven’t found one that I’m just WANT to read yet. Maybe someone here can spare some reccs?
What about you? Do you read historical romance? Do you have some reccs? Do you know what I should start with? Anything that seems a little more modern, even though it’s still historical fiction? I might like that more. Let me know in the comments!
I feel like the few books that might have even come close to being “historical fiction” for me was coupled with paranormal! So basically a paranormal book in a historical setting! Lol. Not sure if those would count for that genre or not. I might have even labeled them “paranormal historical fiction” when doing teasers.
