Have you ever asked a co-workers to give you a book or B&N card if they got your name for a Secret Santa gift exchange? If so, did you get what you asked for?
We never did Secret Santa at my old job, only because there were so many of us! (I worked at Olive Garden!)

I think we may have done a Secret Santa thing when I was in 5th grade. Other than that I've only ever done it the past few years with the blogger exchange one. It's fun! Though this year my person was extremely hard to shop for as I didn't get a lot of info from her and she had no contact that I could ask questions to! Now I'm waiting, agonizingly for her to open her gift. She said maybe Wednesday after she finished her finals, but she has yet to do it and her twitter feed has been empty of tweets other than retweets!
