What is your favorite memory surrounding books?
This one is easy. I remember when I first discovered certain bookstores were releasing Harry Potter at midnight and were staying open so kids could come in and get copies. I remember it was the 4th book that I saw on tv that certain stores were doing it and at the time the closest bookstore to us was Hastings. My mom called and they said they were open till 12 for people to come get copies, and my mom and me waited till then on pins and needles. She had let my aunt borrow her car, so when my aunt finally came down the alleyway, we ran to the car, hopped in, and booked it to Hastings. Once we got there, I grabbed my book and was ready to go. Not many people knew about it, but I was the first one in Galveston to receive their copy. And then when we finally made it home, I remember reading it until I got to the 4th chapter and had to stop myself from reading to actually get some sleep!

Oh yes! I think I might have started at the 5th book as I don’t remember if the 4th one had parties near my Borders. I do remember that for the 6th book, I accidentally ordered 2 copies for the midnight release. Luckily they didn’t charge you until you bought the copy, so I was able to get my friend a copy at the preorder price vs the on sale date one! I still have that ticket somewhere too! Lol.
